Tax professionals can save time by using Tax Pro Account. Tax Pro Account makes it easy to view your clients¡¯ tax information, view and withdraw from active authorizations, and submit Powers of Attorney or Tax Information Authorizations ¨C all in real time!
You can access Tax Pro Account from IRS.gov at irs.gov/taxproaccount. It¡¯s a separate tool from e-Services and it¡¯s different from Submit Forms 2848 and 8821 Online.
The main advantage of Tax Pro Account is that once your request for authorization is approved by the taxpayer, it¡¯s processed in real time to the Centralized Authorization obÌåÓý, also called the CAF, in real-time. You don¡¯t have to wait like when you submit forms online or send them by mail or fax.
Signing in is easy ¨C use your ID.me account or create an account if this is your first time.
Once logged in, you¡¯ll discover a range of features at your fingertips. Link your CAF number and view taxpayer information or view and withdraw from active authorizations. Even if you haven¡¯t linked your CAF number yet, you can still request a new POA or TIA.
